What industry technologists
and managers are saying about IPEAK tools.
Let
Intel help you quickly bring to market your new PC design, PC platform
components, or software application with the Intel Performance Evaluation
and Analysis Kit (IPEAK). In today's competitive marketplace it's
becoming increasingly important to design and integrate new platform
technologies such as AGP, ACPI, and IEEE-1394 and deliver products
to the market in a timely fashion.
Intel's IPEAK is a family of platform performance and integration tools. Currently
IPEAK comprises three toolkits for optimizing various components of the PC platform: the Graphics ToolKit, the Power
ToolKit, and the Storage ToolKit . If you are a PC
OEM, Intel's IPEAK tools can help your company create an optimal PC design incorporating
these leading edge technologies. If you are an Independent Hardware Vendor (IHV), the
IPEAK tools will help you optimize the design of your products for the PC platform. And,
if you are a software developer, the IPEAK tools will enable you to create software
applications that best take advantage of the latest in PC platform technologies.
Graphics Toolkit
The Graphics Toolkit is comprised of two tools; the Graphics
Performance Tool (GPT) and the Intel Baseline AGP System Evaluation Suite (IBASES).
The Graphics Performance Tool (GPT) provides an
integrated GUI environment for analyzing graphics hardware and software performance on the
Intel Architecture platform. It includes hardware performance analysis, software
performance analysis, workload/scene analysis, and API analysis. The tool is also able to
use Direct3D and OpenGL, and supports the workload/scene analysis of other APIs through
standardized data formats.
The Intel Baseline AGP System
Evaluation Suite (IBASES) provides a collection of tools that evaluate AGP
performance for optimum hardware and software integration. The individual tools evaluate
the driver and adapter for AGP texturing volume and throughput, functionally test this
combination for support of AGP capabilities through DirectX*5.0, and monitor application
utilization of AGP, as well as, traditional local video memory.
Power Management Toolkit
The Intel
Power Management Analysis Tool (IPMAT) is the first to be developed
for the Power Management Toolkit. The tool helps in the evaluation
and qualification systems that support the Advanced Configuration
and Power Interface (ACPI) and the OnNow functionality of Windows*
98 and Windows NT* 5.0. IPMAT can be used for vendor selection and
qualification by checking for the ACPI power management support
of hardware, devices, drivers, and applications and the resume latencies
associated with the state changes.
Storage Toolkit
The Storage
Toolkit is designed to aid in the performance improvement and
selection of storage devices. It includes the capability to manipulate
and analyze system-level disk I/O traces, rank drive performance,
and perform low-level drive performance analysis.
